Zhina Foundation was founded in 2023, the name was inspired by a 22-year-old Kurdish female name “Jina Mahsa Amini” who was killed by the Iranian mortality police, allegedly for not having a proper Hijab.
Furious protestors in Iran, took to the street during Amini’s funeral in her hometown in the province of Kurdistan and soon spread out to all regions and cities of Iran, chanting and fighting for “ Freedom, equality of justice, freedom of speech and basic human rights. In Kurdish, Jina means “life” eternal.
In honor of Jina Mahsa Amini, along with thousands of brothers and sisters who were killed, jailed, tortured, or injured, fighting for their freedom and justice, Zhina Foundation is committed to working closely with legal attorneys and professional doctors as well as social service communities, in the urban areas in enhancing and improving their day to day life, structuring and shaping their life to become empowered and skilled for living the “life” that is desired and deserved.
Zhina Foundation, is indebted to all the lives that were lost fighting for their human rights as well as fighting to set Iran free from the Islamic Regime.
